TOEFL test. Tell me more…
Hey,
I’m going to take the test, coz I’d like to study in LCC. They want me to surpass 480 out of 677, if I heard them right. As I don’t wanna mess up, I’d like to hear from people, who maybe took the TOEFL lately, about the tasks, and the level of them… What’s nescessary, a huge bag of vocabulary, or perfection in grammar? 
Or is it straightforward?

I heard that rich vocabulary is extremely necessary because e.g. you listen to an article and you have to retell it without preparation. And it requires rich vocabulary if you want to get more points. I heard that there are courses that prepare people to take TOEFL.
Oh, so there’s going to be a re-telling task.

eg now the max score is 677, whereas then it was 300

Like university… Only diffrence from other Lithuanian universities, is that it is smaller in size, and teaches everything in english.
Yes, I’m in 4th lycee form, or in standart numbers - 12th grade, now So next yr will be my first at university 
Does anyone know how old o you have to be in order to take the test? I’m 14 and I think that I’m capable in taking it but… is there any age boundry?
I think that there isn’t but, what’s the point of takin’ it, if you’re 14… the diploma is only given to you for two years, after that it becomes useless, coz you might’ve gotten dumb or smth, then you have to retake the test so as to refresh the result…
Only for 2 years? Ok I might have missed something out when they were telling me about it… How old are you all, and what does the TOEFL test allow me to do? I mean what does it mean… oh and- does anyone know if there is such a thing as English A level in Lithuania?

TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) shows your level of knowlegde… It tests your listening, writting and reading abilities You score from 0 up to 677, which is maximum… Umm… Well, at your age, you could only boast in front of your friends with the diploma, that’s all… You really need to take the test if you want to study abroad, probably when you are 18 yrs old… Most of the universities will ask you to take the TOEFL, and I’m not sure about whats the minimum required, but I know, that if you score 580, it’s very very good, and definately enough for them
Well, most of universities in UK ask for IELTS results
Most ask either TOEFL or IELTS… (my hint: TOEFL is easier… )
What about Native Language tests? Are there any of that kind, and would I be able to take them even if I’m not native? I’ve been speaking in English since primary school…
